Denon AH-D5000 Reference Headphones Review: Worth the Price Tag?

Denon AH-D5000 Reference Headphones Review: Worth the Price Tag?

Denon AH-D5000 Reference headphones are, without a doubt, the best headphones I have ever used in my life. The mahogany craftsmanship and technical brilliance of these headphones combines to create the richest, fullest sound possible. Even though the price is a bit steep, it is impossible to be disappointed with this purchase.

The Denon AH-D5000 headphones were designed for audiophiles, not the average listener. The realism of the sound produced is on a level unmatched by any other set of headphones in the world. Denon has overcome all the usual obstacles to quality sound in headphones with this model.

If you want to buy these headphones, you can get them cheapest online through Amazon here.

Technical Details

The drivers reproduce sound perfectly in high, mid, and bass ranges. In addition, the Denon AH-D5000 headphones employ a microfiber diaphragm to catch all the details of each sound. Delicate sounds and booming sounds are both reproduced by the microfibers with a precision that cannot be reached with ordinary diaphragms.

The acoustics of the mahogany housing produces a full sound, overcoming any sense of hollowness. The acoustic properties of mahogany are used in both drums and guitars because it produces such a broad range of natural sounds. This set of headphones also uses an acoustic optimizer that adjusts sound pressure on both sides of the diaphragm whenever needed. This makes the bass clear while balancing the low to mid tones.

You can get these headphones cheapest online through Amazon.com here.

The headband and ear cups are comfortable and natural. The frame is made of super lightweight magnesium that maximizes comfort during all-day listening sessions.

Finally, the high-quality cable preserves the integrity of the sound transmission all the way through. The cable uses 99.9% 7N Oxygen Free Cable (OFC) technology. To minimize distortion the cables are in a cloth mesh jacket and use an aluminum connector cover. The left and right channel cables are of equal length to preserve the high quality of sound.

The Good
  • Top quality noise canceling function. Equivalent to headphones in the $200 range.
  • Very light headphones - hardly feel them on you.
  • Reason 3
The Bad
  • The ear phones don’t cover your entire ear so sometimes outside noise can be heard without the noise cancel function enabled.

These headphones are for:

  1. People in a college dorm or apartment setting with noisy neighbors.
  2. People who travel on airplanes a lot.
  3. Someone in the music production industry.

Let’s take a look at all of the headphones features.

Overall, for the price that they charge for these, you will find no better headphones. Sure there are better ones out there, but you will have a lot more for just a slight increase in capabilities.
Let me show you what current owners have to say about it.

Dana S.,

I have owned the HANC250 headphones for about a year now and it is definitely the best headset I have ever purchased. I travel on plans a lot and I always make sure they are on the ride with me. Even though I have taken these things everywhere, they are in perfect shape because of the hard cover that comes with it. I have no problem at all with wearing them for hours at a time without any discomfort. The sound quality is excellent!

Sennheiser PXC 450 Headphones Review: The Best Noise Canceling Headphones on the Market.

Sennheiser PXC 450 Headphone

pxc450-noise-canceling1For the audiophile (or anyone who remotely considers themselves to be one), there is simply nothing better than a quality set of headphones. While many people are willing to spend a fortune on speakers for a stereo system, the fact is that there is no better way to listen to music than through audiophile-quality headphones. In recent times, one used to have to spend over $1000 for what are today considered top-of-the-line headphones. Fortunately, these come at a much lower price tag, as can be seen with the Sennheiser PXC 450 headphones. For the money, there is simply no better set of cans on the market. If you are looking to buy these headphones, they are currently on sale at Amazon for close to 50% off through this link.

Let’s take a look at the features of the PXC 450 Head Phones

One of the first things that audiophiles look for in a good set of headphones is noise-canceling. Not only do these headphones make use of some of the most state-of-the-art noise-canceling technology available at the moment, they do so at a lower price than just about any equivalent headphones on the market. The PXC 450s block out approximately 90% of outside noise, creating a pristine listening environment for your favorite music. Coupled with the dual diaphragm technology incorporated into these headphones, the listening experience literally has to be heard and experienced to be believed. Throw on a live recording of a symphony and you’ll swear you’re sitting front row, listening to each individual instrument as the music swells around you - it is truly incredible! These headphones also come with a soft case as well as a few adapters (including an in-flight adapter for airplanes) and a set of batteries.

If you want to buy these head phones, I highly recommend you by them through Amazon here. You won’t find them cheaper anywhere else.

For the money, you will not be able to find a better pair of headphones than these. Years ago, headphones of this standard would have cost well over $1000. Thankfully, they can now belong to you for only a fraction of that price.

Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7 Headphones review: won’t hear a peep of outside noise!

The Audio Technica ATH-ANC7 headphones Review

audio-technicaThe Audio Technica ATH-ANC7 headphones are billed as QuietPoint, which as the name implies means that they are noise cancelling headphones. The headphones are accompanied by some truly hi-tech and useful accessories particularly if you are a traveler. Hard Shell case and adapter for the airlines is just one way that the Audia Technica meets your travel needs. If you want to buy these, they are currently on sale at Amazon through this link. 5% off.

Let’s look at the features of this noise canceling headphones

The Audio Technica, as with any other product does tend to have both the up and the down. In this instance the only real down point seems to be that the Audio Technica does suffer from a bit of an issue with the treble, offering a rather brittle sound quality, and the headphones do become somewhat muffled when the noise cancellation feature is not in use.

One of the major benefits of the Audio Technica ATH-ANC7 is the over-large ear-cup, which tends to make them a lot more comfortable than the smaller variety which are troublesome over a long period of time.

The head band aspects of the ATH-ANC7 QuietPoint are padded with the plastic while the plastic edging curves away from the heat, making the entire headphones far more comfortable than the competition. The cable which is included is detachable and is extra long at about 5 feet, meaning that you’ve got plenty of space for comfy connection. If you are interested in buying these head phones, you can get them cheapest through Amazon at this link.

The Audio Technica ATH ANC7 QuietPoint headphones are full featured and comfortable, but are a little light when it comes to the perfect sound and perfect performance, when you’re up in the high ranges. Still, the price, the comfort and the relatively good sound quality make them a good, if not perfect value.

Sennheiser PXC300 Headphones review: comfortable noise canceling headphones.

Sennheiser PXC300 HeadPhones Review

Not that long ago, the marketplace for noise-canceling headphones was domineered by a single company. In recent years, the marketplace for this product has expanded, and the noise-canceling technology has been refined. Sennheiser PXC300 HeadPhones are a perfect illustration of the advancements that took place.

pxc300Sennheiser PXC300 HeadPhones are designed with the traveler in mind. They come with airline audio adapters, a six foot cable, batteries, and a very nice looking travel case with a zipper. When not in use, the Sennheiser PXC300 HeadPhones fold flat for simple storage in the travel case, and the whole collection is very lightweight. If you want to buy these headphones, I strongly suggest you buy them from Amazon here. You can’t get new ones this cheap anywhere.

These high-quality headphones feature a fitting headband with two point suspension, and soft ear cushions that provide the wearer with improved passive attenuation and a comfortable listening experience. Duofol diaphragms with spiral embossing distribute crystal clear and realistic audio with a deep bass response, and computer optimized neodymium magnets provide for exceptionally low distortion. The manufacturer claims
the technology this product was designed with reduces vulnerability to interference from radio-frequency sources such as cellular telephones. The Sennheiser PXC300 HeadPhones utilize passive and active noise reduction technology allowing the wearer to enjoy their favorite music in the noisiest of places. This piece of equipment can provide up to 80 hours of noise canceling use with a fresh set of batteries, and they still work as normal headphones without the noise cancelling feature if the batteries run out. This product comes with a two year warranty.

You will find these headphones cheapest at Amazon. They are currently on sale for 50% off through this link.

My experiences with the Sennheiser PXC300 HeadPhones have not been unpleasing. The noise canceling feature works great, the sound is of a high standard, and they produce adequate bass performance. They are comfortable to wear and pack away quite easily in the provided travel kit. This is a high quality product that I would recommend to anyone.

Panasonic RP HC500 Noise Canceling Headphones definitely do the job. My Review

panasonic-noise-cancelThe Panasonic RP-HC500 headphones are of the noise-canceling variety and, for the price, they ‘get the job done’. These relatively inexpensive headphones (about $180) are some of the best noise-reducing headphones that you can purchase. There are, of course, many other noise-reducing headphones on the market, but they typically cost around five-hundred dollars. With that said, these Panasonic headphones are great for listening on the subway, bus, in the car, or anywhere that you want to listen to your music without destroying your ear drums.

If you want to buy these, I highly recommend you buy them from Amazon here. You won’t find them cheaper anywhere. Period.

These head phones offer an excellent quality of sound and are comfortable to wear, albeit being somewhat bulky. However, this heftiness is offset by their surprising light weight. Also, these headphones only come in an on-ear variety, so that may be a bit of a turn-off for some. Occasionally, I just put on these headphones to enjoy some quiet time with myself. Sometimes, especially in dorms and thin-walled apartments, its just nice to listen to nothing at all for a little while.

Let’s take a look at the features of the RP-HC500

But what I really love about these headphones is that they are a quality piece of equipment. At first glance, however, you may think otherwise. They look cheap - you know, dollar-store cheap. But they’re not. I like that. They have lasted me for almost two years so far, and within the realm of headphones, that says something. For example, the earbuds that are included with MP3 players typically only last for about six months. So, for the extra cost, these are completely worth it.

Again, if you are about to buy these - get them from Amazon here for the cheapest price online.

I would recommend these to anyone that wants quality noise-canceling headphones at a reasonable price. Why pay $500 for something that you could have gotten for under $200 that works equally well. Why buy these? Because its the logical and economically sensible thing to do.

Bose QuietComfort 2 Headphones Review: The ultimate noise canceling head phones!

Bose QuietComfort 2 Headphone Review

bose-noise-canceling The Bose QuietComfort 2 noise-canceling headphones are far and away the most effective headphones I’ve ever owned. For half the price of some other noise-cancelling headphones, they’ve provided me an easy and relaxing way to enjoy music no matter where I am. The QuietComfort 2 headphones produce crystal clear sound under normal circumstances, but are particularly valuable while in a live, noisy environment. Want to buy these head phones? They are currently on sale at Amazon through this link. Hurry though as the special offer ends soon.

Let me give you an example. My job requires me to travel by air quite frequently, and I was consistently frustrated by the roar of jet engines forcing me to crank up the volume on my iPod. It seemed for a while that the only solution to this problem would be to either spend flight after dreary flight listening to the monotone hum of turbines, or slowly deafen myself with music loud enough to rattle your teeth. Purchasing the QuietComfort 2’s changed all of that. Now, when I fly, I might as well be in a soundproof room with the musicians to whom I’m listening. Owning these headphones has taken a lot of the stress out of traveling.

There is one small drawback to the QuietComfort 2’s, but certainly nothing that should discourage someone from purchasing them. The headphones are powered by one AAA battery, which lasts for about 30-40 hours. Switching out batteries has not been a big concern of mine thus far - in fact, I think I’ve only gone through two in the year I’ve owned the unit. Unless you are listening to music all day, every day, replacement batteries are a pretty minimal expense, and one that could always be negated by purchasing rechargeable AAA’s.

If you are looking to the Bose QuitComfort 2, I highly recommend you buy them from Amazon here. Can’t find them cheaper anywhere else.

My QuitComfort 2’s are very comfortable. They fit snugly over my ears and effectively seal out background noise without pinching anything or giving me a headache. My model even has the capability to receive cell phone input, although I have yet to explore that particular aspect of the unit. All in all, I would heartily recommend the QuietComfort 2 from Bose. I think they’re a great product at a very reasonable price.

Sennheiser PXC 250 Headphones Are Great at Canceling Noise. My Review.

Sennheiser PXC 250 Head Phones Review

At first glance I thought the Sennheiser PXC 250 headphones would not give me the quality sound I was accustomed to with Boise headphones, but I was completely mistaken. The compact supra-aural PXC 250 headphones cancel external noise, are lightweight and the sound quality is excellent.

pxc250 The secret to Sennheiser’s success is the noise cancelling circuitry in the PXC 250, which makes a huge difference traveling, or when I’m surrounded with noisy patrons in a crowded airport. The PXC 250 headphones are foldable; the ear cups turn 90 degrees and fold and lock for storage in my belt pouch. When I open the headphones they lock in position. I use them to watch DVD’s on planes or to listen to music on my MP3 player. Comfort is always an issue with headphones and the PXC 250 is a heavyweight in that category. I had them on for 10 hours straight on a recent trip to the Orient and almost forgot I was wearing them.

The features speak for themselves. The PXC 250 headphones are made using Sennheiser’s Duofol diaphragms with spiral embossing, which provides high resolution sound and there is a bass tube that delivers a powerful bass quality. The switchable NoiseGard feature reduces frequencies below 1000 Hz by as much as 15 dB, which is why the PXC 250 is such a great traveling companion. Weighing in at only 65 grams (2.3.oz.) the PXC 250 operates on 2 AAA batteries so the NoiseGard feature is activated when the headphones are in use. The PXC 250 has a cable length of 1.8 m or 5.9 ft. and will plug into any 3.5 mm stereo jack plug. The on-the-ear coupling has only 0.1 harmonic distortion. There may be more expensive headphones on the market, but dollar for dollar the PXC 250 is a real value.
